Event – “Old Maps & Old Things” – at The Towers – Sunday, April 23, 2:00 pm – Free and Open to the Public
The Narragansett Historical Society is delighted to present the program “Old Maps & Old Things” on Sunday, April 23, 2:00 pm, at The Towers, Ocean Road, Narragansett.
Our featured speaker will be Geoff Gaunt, owner of Providence Picture Frame Co. & Dryden Gallery, established in the mid-1800’s. Goeff specializes in the presentation and preservation of antiquities and other high-value objects, and he also teaches conservation framing for RISD. Providence Picture Frame is the largest seller of framed antique maps in New England. After a brief talk, Geoff will be available for questions and answers.
In addition, there will be a display of antique Narragansett and Rhode Island maps, as well as some special artifacts, both from the Narragansett Historical Society’s collection and selected private collections. Some of these may rarely be available for public viewing.
The event starts at 2:00 pm, expected to last until approximately 3:30. Free and open to the public, no reservations required.
